Netta Crosby from no:42
Graham Hinde recalls Netta who used to have the meals on wheels service.
However, she believed that in order to qualify, one needed to be
bedridden, so when they arrived she would dash upstairs and leap into
bed, fully clothed and not infrequently straight from the garden in her
wellies. All the children adored her.
I think they recognised a kindred
spirit.
Other recollections of this very lovable old lady - as poor as a church mouse - was of her filling the hotwater bottle at night to then make a cup of tea in bed. |
